چکیده

The current study was aimed to investigate on dynamics of propoxur resistance in Anopheles gambiae s.l. populations from N’ dali district northern Benin (West Africa) and also malathion s. l. Toffo southern Benin. Larvae pupae l . mosquitoes were collected the breeding sites Borgou Atlantic departments 2015 2019. WHO susceptibility tests conducted unfed female aged 2-5 days old. bioassays performed with impregnated papers 0.1% 5%. PCR techniques used detect species Ace-1 mutations 2015. N’dali resistant still remained this product Regarding Toffo, they susceptible whereas status these requires further investigation revealed that all specimens tested presence Ace-1R at very low frequency (0.01) observed both districts. This shows detected An. needs be monitored for insecticide area.

Multiple insecticide resistance mechanisms in Anopheles gambiae and Culex quinquefasciatus from Benin, West Africa.

Because free-insecticide treated net distribution is planned in Benin (West Africa) during the next few years, we investigated the type, frequency and distribution of insecticide resistance mechanisms in Anopheles gambiae and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes in four localities selected on the basis of contrasting agricultural practices, use of insecticides and environment. Bioassays with WHO d...

Multiple Insecticide Resistance in Anopheles gambiae s.l. Populations from Burkina Faso, West Africa

Malaria control programs are being jeopardized by the spread of insecticide resistance in mosquito vector populations. The situation in Burkina Faso is emblematic with Anopheles gambiae populations showing high levels of resistance to most available compounds. Although the frequency of insecticide target-site mutations including knockdown resistance (kdr) and insensitive acetylcholinesterase (A...

Identification and geographic distribution of the ACE-1R mutation in the malaria vector Anopheles gambiae in south-western Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Resistance of Anopheles gambiae to organophosphate and carbamate insecticides was first reported in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa. Subsequent studies revealed that it resulted from a single point mutation in the oxyanion hole of the acetycholinesterase enzyme (ace-1(R) mutation). We investigated the distribution and prevalence of the ace-1(R) mutation in An. gambiae s.l. populations from seven loc...

Distribution of organophosphate and carbamate resistance in Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus (Diptera: Culicidae) in West Africa.

The distribution of organophosphate and carbamate resistance was investigated in 33 samples of Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus Say from 25 cities in Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso. Organophosphate resistance levels were higher in Côte d'Ivoire than in Burkina Faso. Chlorpyrifos resistance ratios at LC95 ranged from 4 to 30 times in Côte d'Ivoire and from 3 to 6 times in Burkina Faso. For temepho...

Genetic differentiation of Anopheles gambiae s.s. populations in Mali, West Africa, using microsatellite loci.

Anopheles gambiae sensu stricto is a principal vector of malaria through much of sub-Saharan Africa, where this disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in human populations. Accordingly, population sizes and gene flow in this species have received special attention, as these parameters are important in attempts to control malaria by impacting its mosquito vector. Past measures of ge...
